Today's Food Prices in East Java: Chili and Sugar Prices Drop

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to be lower than yesterday's.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Friday (January 3, 2025) at 3:32 PM WIB, out of 21 commodities, 7 commodities increased in price and 14 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include bulk cooking oil, broiler chicken, milkfish, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), and red chilies.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as mackerel, farmer-level corn, pure beef, iodized fine salt, and bulk wheat flour decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies saw the highest price increase of Rp1,980 (3.11%), reaching Rp65,730 per kg. Farmer-level corn experienced the steepest price drop of Rp290 (5.22%), reaching Rp5,270 per kg.
