Local Sugar Prices in Central Sulawesi Increased by Four Percent in a Week

The price of local granulated sugar in Central Sulawesi reached Rp 14,300 per kg on Thursday, March 3, 2022. Compared to other regions, this is the highest price increase in the last week.

According to daily commodity price monitoring data from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center, the price of local granulated sugar in Central Sulawesi has increased by four percent in a week.

Compared to the price 30 days prior, the price of local granulated sugar in this region has also increased by four percent. This signifies a significant increase within a month. Furthermore, compared to the last year's prices, the current selling price of local granulated sugar in Central Sulawesi's modern markets is the highest on record.

For the January-March 2022 period, the price of local granulated sugar in modern markets has continued to rise, increasing by four percent compared to the previous month.

The price of local granulated sugar reached its lowest point at Rp 12,750 per kg on Monday, January 3, 2022. The highest price ever reached was around Rp 14,300 per kg.

Nationally, the price of local granulated sugar began to rise towards the end of 2021. The average price of local granulated sugar in modern markets is Rp 13,680 per kg, a 1.15% increase compared to the end of last week.
