Latest Food Prices in West Sumatra: Chili and Oil Prices Rise

Prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Friday (11/10/2024) at 09.01 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 10 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include broiler chicken, skipjack tuna, bulk wheat flour, premium rice, and chicken eggs.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as milkfish, dry soybean (import), packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), garlic cloves, and medium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Broiler chicken prices increased the most, by Rp3,310 (9.51%) to Rp38,100 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of corn at the farmer level decreased the most, by Rp890 (16.51%) to Rp4,500 per kg.

6. Curly Red Chili: Rp32,020 per kg (up 5.82%)
7. Red Onion: Rp30,290 per kg (up 3.03%)
8. Milkfish: Rp30,000 per kg (down 5.0%)
9. Chicken Eggs: Rp28,790 per kg (up 0.28%)
10. Simple Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp18,200 per liter (up 2.25%)
11. Premium Rice: Rp17,950 per kg (up 2.16%)
