Latest Food Prices in West Sumatra: Rice, Chicken, and Beef Prices Increase

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Saturday (20/7/2024) at 14.37 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 8 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include mackerel, chicken eggs, bulk wheat flour, shallots, and iodized fine salt.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), dry soybean seeds (import), granulated sugar, milkfish, and simple packaged cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Mackerel prices surged the highest by Rp1,910 (3.95%) to Rp50,280 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of curly red chilies decreased the most sharply by Rp1,040 (2.4%) to Rp42,370 per kg.

8. Milkfish: Rp31,930 per kg (down 1.05%)
9. Shallots: Rp29,490 per kg (up 1.9%)
10. Chicken Eggs: Rp28,940 per kg (up 1.51%)
