Daily Refined Sugar Prices in Modern Markets of Papua Province Have Decreased by 0.73% Over the Past Month

Latest information from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center panel shows that the daily price of granulated sugar in modern markets in Papua Province is recorded at Rp20,500 per kg. This price remains unchanged compared to the previous day and the last week.

Compared to the last month, the daily price of granulated sugar in modern markets has decreased from the previous record of Rp20,650 per kg.

Meanwhile, the daily price of granulated sugar in modern markets in Papua over the last three months has decreased by 1.2%. According to historical records of food prices on the PIHPS price panel, the daily price of granulated sugar in modern markets in Papua Province was traded at Rp20,750 per kg.

The record high for the daily price of granulated sugar in modern markets in this province was previously recorded in June 2023 with an increase of 18.15%, and the lowest decrease was recorded in June 2023 with a decrease of -15.36%.

PIHPS monitoring shows that the prices of nine basic commodities (sembako) today in Papua recorded 13 commodities decreasing and three others increasing. The basic commodities with decreased prices are Red Chili, Large Red Chili, Green Chili, Curly Red Chili, Chili, Rice, Granulated Sugar, Super I Quality Rice, Chicken Meat, Premium Quality Granulated Sugar, Fresh Broiler Chicken, Red Onion, and Medium-Sized Red Onion.

The following are the prices of nine basic commodities monitored by PIHPS today compared to the price changes over the last month in Papua Province:

5. Green Chili per Kg Rp70,000 per kg (down 37.08%)
6. Curly Red Chili per Kg Rp43,750 per kg (down 60.23%)
7. Chili per Kg Rp70,000 per kg (down 27.27%)
8. Branded Packaged Cooking Oil 2 per Kg Rp21,500 per kg (up 4.12%)
9. Rice per Kg Rp16,550 per kg (down 1.19%)
10. Fresh Broiler Eggs per Kg Rp34,500 per kg (unchanged)
11. Granulated Sugar per Kg Rp20,500 per kg (down 0.73%)
