National Skipjack Tuna Production Value Highest, Reaching 17% in 2020

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded the production value of Indonesian fishing companies reaching Rp 2.77 trillion with a production volume of 187,272 tons in 2020. This value increased by 17% from Rp 2.37 trillion in 2019. Skipjack tuna was the fish type with the highest national transaction value last year.

Indonesia produced 20,907 tons of skipjack tuna in 2020. Its transaction value reached Rp 457.34 billion.

Tuna ranked second with a production value of Rp 423.86 billion. The production volume of this fish reached 12,995 tons.

Next, the production value of cakalang (skipjack tuna) reached Rp 316.19 billion with a production volume of 20,174 tons. Then, the production value of shrimp was Rp 76.02 billion with a production volume of 15,200 tons.

Finally, the production of other fish was recorded at Rp 1.49 trillion with a production volume of 117,996 tons.
