Here are the 10 Provinces with the Most Motorcycles

The Indonesian National Police's Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) recorded that the number of vehicles in Indonesia is still dominated by two-wheeled vehicles or motorcycles. Based on data updated on January 17th at 23:34 WIB, the number of motor vehicles in Indonesia reached 146.11 million units, with 80.5% or 117.74 million units being motorcycles.

Jakarta is known as a city with high traffic density. Unsurprisingly, this metropolitan city contributes the highest number of motorcycles in Indonesia, with the Jakarta Metro Police (Polda Metro Jaya) recording 17.38 million units.

Central Java ranks second with 17.05 million motorcycles, followed by West Java in third place with 15.19 million units.

Although East Java has the highest total number of vehicles, its number of motorcycles ranks fourth at 13.21 million units. North Sumatra follows in fifth place with 6.15 million motorcycles.

This data shows that the highest number of motorcycles is still concentrated on the island of Java. This is evident from the fact that only North Sumatra, outside of Java, is included in the top five on this list.

In total, Java Island recorded 67.89 million motorcycles, representing 57.66% of the total number of motorcycles in Indonesia.
