The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) and the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT) are completing the construction of toll roads to support public traffic flow during the 2022-2023 Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays. The PUPR Ministry is preparing 2 toll road sections for operation and 8 functional roads.
Two toll road sections are ready for operation: the Lubuklinggau-Curup-Bengkulu Toll Road, Bengkulu-Taba Penanjung section (16.7 km), and the Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan (Cisumdawu) Toll Road, Pamulihan-Sumedang section (4.8 km) and Section 3 Sumedang-Cimalaka (4.05 km).
The operation of the Bengkulu-Taba Penanjung Toll Road is based on the Decree of the Minister of PUPR No. 988/KPTS/M/2022 dated August 25, 2022, while the operation of Cisumdawu Toll Road Sections 2 and 3 is based on the Directorate General of Highways Letter No. 0702-Db/1489 concerning the Conditional Operational Fitness Certificate for the Cisumdawu Toll Road, Pamulihan-Sumedang and Sumedang-Cimalaka sections, dated November 11, 2022.
"To support the Christmas and New Year holidays, the PUPR Ministry ensures the readiness of road and bridge infrastructure, supported by the addition of operational toll road sections, including national roads in good condition," said PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono in his official statement on Wednesday (7/12).
The following toll road sections support traffic flow during Nataru 2022:
1. Lubuklinggau-Curup-Bengkulu Section, Bengkulu-Taba Penanjung: 16.7 km
2. Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan (Cisumdawu) Section, Pamulihan-Sumedang: 4.8 km and Section 3 Sumedang-Cimalaka: 4.05 km
The following are functional toll road sections for traffic during Nataru 2022:
1. Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu Sections 2A and 2A-Ujung: 4.8 km
2. Semarang-Demak Section 2, Sayung-Demak: 16.31 km
3. Jakarta-Cikampek Selatan Package 3, Sadang-Kutanegara Segment: 8.5 km
4. Sigli-Banda Aceh Sections 5 (Balang Bintang-Kutobaru) and 6 (Kutobaru-Simpang Baitussalam): 5 km
5. Krian-Legundi-Bunder-Manyar, Wringinanom JC Ramp: 7.5 km
6. Cinere-Jagorawi Section 3A, Kukusan-Krukut: 3 km
7. Ciawi-Sukabumi Section 2, Cigombong-Cibadak: 11.9 km
8. Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tinggi-Parapat Section 1, Tebing Tinggi-Indrapura: 20.4 km
Secretary of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency, Triono Junoasmono, stated that based on construction progress and field conditions, Yongki (Triono Junoasmono's nickname) assessed that the Tebing Tinggi-Indrapura Toll Road is suitable for use by motorists, albeit temporarily. The functionalization of this toll road is expected to improve the comfort of road users during the holiday or Nataru homecoming period.
"In principle, we will try to make the Tebing Tinggi-Indrapura Toll Road functional in December 2022 for the Nataru period," said Yongki while accompanying the Specific Visit of Commission V of the DPR RI to North Sumatra on Wednesday (30/11).
Furthermore, Yongki said that the BPJT will coordinate with the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT) regarding the certainty of the toll road's opening and closing dates, including the readiness of the functional Tebing Tinggi-Indrapura Toll Road to support the Nataru homecoming flow, such as the establishment of joint posts, the addition of toll gates, rest areas, and additional personnel.
