Jakarta's Religious Facilities Totaled 8,212 Units in 2021

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded 8,212 places of worship in DKI Jakarta in 2021. The majority were prayer rooms (musala), totaling 3,525.

The highest number of prayer rooms was in East Jakarta, with 1,144 units. North and West Jakarta had 740 and 706 units respectively.

DKI Jakarta also has a significant number of mosques (masjid), totaling 3,433. East Jakarta had the most mosques, with 1,032.

There were also 1,098 Protestant churches, 92 viharas (Buddhist temples), 47 Catholic churches, 13 pura (Hindu temples), and 4 miao (Chinese temples) in the capital.

Based on region, East Jakarta had the most places of worship last year. The Thousand Islands (Kepulauan Seribu) had the fewest, with only 45.
