Based on the forest and land fire monitoring system SiPongi from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), monitoring over the last 24 hours recorded 2,045 hotspots detected across Indonesia. This number increased by 358 hotspots compared to the previous monitoring period.

This data was obtained from Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA satellite imagery accessed on Friday, 31 July 2026 at 11:34 WIB. Of the total detected hotspots: 61 had high confidence level, 1932 medium confidence, and 52 low confidence.

Hotspot confidence is classified into 3 tiers: Low (0-29), Medium (30-79), High (80-100). Higher hotspot confidence indicates greater probability of active forest and land fires in the location.

The highest hotspot count was recorded in South Papua with 515 points. West Kalimantan ranked second with 247 hotspots, followed by Central Kalimantan at third place with 194 hotspots.

125 hotspots were detected in Maluku, East Kalimantan followed with 106, while East Nusa Tenggara and South Kalimantan recorded 99 and 87 hotspots respectively.

A hotspot is a coordinate point showing higher surface temperature than surrounding areas; it does not directly equal fire incident count.

However, concentrated clusters of high hotspot numbers indicate active forest and land fire events. Satellite-detected hotspot data remains the most effective method for large-area wildfire monitoring.
