2024 All England Champions: Jonathan and Anthony's Simultaneous Rise

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) released the latest men's singles rankings after the 2024 All England Open at the Utilita Arena, Birmingham, England, held from March 12-17, 2024.

Indonesia emerged as the overall champion in this BWF Super 1000 tournament. Jonatan Christie won the men's singles title, and the pair Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto won the men's doubles title.

Jonathan's achievement ended a three-decade-long drought in men's singles titles for Indonesia. The last time Indonesia achieved this was through Hariyanto Arbi in 1994.

After winning the All England Open 2024, Jonatan received an additional 12,000 points. As a result, Jonatan's position in the BWF rankings soared to fourth in the world with a total of 81,015 points.

Similarly, Anthony Ginting, who was the men's singles runner-up at the All England 2024 after losing to Jonatan, also saw his ranking improve. With an additional 10,200 points, Ginting climbed two places to third in the world, accumulating 85,101 points.

Meanwhile, Viktor Axelsen remains at the top of the BWF men's singles world rankings with 98,715 points.

The Danish shuttler was eliminated in the quarter-finals after being defeated by Ginting with a final score of 8-12, 21-18, and 21-19.
