Which Country Is the Favorite Destination for Billionaires?

Australia has become a prime migration destination for the world's billionaires. Research by New World Wealth shows that 11,000 high-net-worth individuals migrated to Australia. These are billionaires with individual assets of at least US$1 billion, or approximately Rp 13.3 trillion.

The number of billionaires migrating to Australia in 2016 increased by 38 percent compared to the previous year. This surge is attributed to factors such as a good healthcare system, a safe environment for raising children, and its distance from global conflicts. Following Australia, the United States is the next most favored destination. Billionaire migration to the U.S. in 2016 increased by 30 percent compared to 2015. According to Andrew Amoils, Head Researcher at New World Wealth, the election of President Donald Trump did not significantly impact the interest of billionaires in the United States.

In its research titled "Global Health Review: Worldwide Wealth and Wealth Migration Trends," New World Wealth states that approximately 82,000 billionaires left their home countries and relocated to other nations in 2016. This represents a 28 percent increase compared to 2015.
