Final Debate: East Jakarta to Receive the Largest RW Funding

If Rp 1 billion is disbursed to each Community Unit (RW), East Jakarta will receive the largest funding. With 703 RWs, East Jakarta would receive Rp 703 billion. Meanwhile, the Thousand Islands regency would receive the smallest amount, with only 24 RWs.

There are 2,722 RWs in Jakarta. Therefore, the gubernatorial candidate pair Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono-Sylviana Murni's promised RW funding would require a budget of Rp 2.7 trillion. With 30,501 Neighborhood Units (RTs) in Jakarta, each RT would receive Rp 89.24 million.

However, this promise has drawn much criticism and controversy. The program is difficult to implement due to the strain it would place on the regional budget (APBD) and its high susceptibility to misuse. Some RW and RT officials who receive these funds also fear being implicated in corruption cases if they cannot account for the taxpayer money.
