West Kalimantan has the largest Buddhist population in Kalimantan. Buddhists constitute 5.62% of the province's total population of 5.48 million.

The Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) of the Ministry of Home Affairs recorded 308,130 Buddhists in West Kalimantan in June 2022.

The next largest Buddhist population in Kalimantan is in East Kalimantan, with 15.6 million (0.4%) out of a total population of 3.89 million. This is followed by South Kalimantan with 12,070 Buddhists (0.29%) out of a total population of 4.14 million.

Next is North Kalimantan with 4,100 Buddhists (0.58%) out of a total population of 709,620. Then Central Kalimantan with 2,850 Buddhists (0.11%) out of a total population of 2.67 million.

In total, the five provinces have 342,740 Buddhists, representing 2.03% of the total population of 16.89 million.
