Penajam Paser Utara Regency, East Kalimantan, is about to receive many "guests". The area designated as the new Capital City of Nusantara (IKN) will accommodate the relocation of 16,990 central government Civil Servants (ASN) in 2024.
Azwar Anas, Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB), stated that this relocation scheme has been discussed in a cabinet meeting. The 2024 relocation is the first phase. A total of approximately 970,000 central government ASNs are expected to be relocated to IKN.
The first phase involves the relocation of 11,274 ASNs from 35 ministries and institutions.
This number comprises 8,091 functional officials and 2,026 executive officials. In addition, there are 964 First-Rank High-Ranking Officials (PPT Pratama) and 193 Middle-Rank High-Ranking Officials (PPT Madya).
The government also targets the relocation of 5,716 Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and Indonesian National Police (Polri) personnel to IKN.
"So, the total number of ASNs, TNI, and Polri personnel relocating to IKN in 2024 is 16,990," said Anas at the National Working Meeting of the Association of Indonesian Provincial Governments (APPSI) in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, on Friday (24/02/2023).
Housing for ASNs has been prepared, including apartments. Anas stated that the apartment towers built in this initial phase are located in Ring 1, or near the State Palace in Nusantara.
In addition to housing, the government is also preparing supporting facilities and essential needs such as hospitals.
He claims that all constructions are built to be environmentally friendly for every institutional, commercial, and residential high-rise building.
