What is the population of working-age individuals in Central Java?

Based on data from the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Central Java's population reached 37.23 million in June 2021. Of this number, 25.89 million (69.54%) were in the productive age group (15-64 years old).

Productive age refers to the age at which a person is still able to work and produce. A large productive-age population in a region indicates that the region is still enjoying a demographic bonus.

There were also 13.09 million (35.16%) people in the province led by Governor Ganjar Pranowo who were in the non-productive age group. This comprised 8.46 million (22.72%) in the non-productive age group (0-14 years old) and 4.63 million (12.44%) in the unproductive age group (65 years and older).

Based on gender, there were 18.74 million (50.35%) male residents and 18.49 million (49.65%) female residents in Central Java. The number of registered households (KK) in the province was 12.38 million in June 2021.

Based on marital status, 15.61 million (41.94%) of Central Java's population were unmarried, 19.16 million (51.47%) were married, 691,290 (1.86%) were divorced, and 1.76 million (4.73%) were widowed.
