BCA Bank Owners, the Hartono Brothers, are Indonesia's Richest People

Robert Budi Hartono is once again listed as the richest person in Indonesia, ranking 69th globally according to Forbes. Based on Forbes' 2018 calculations, the tobacco tycoon, owner of the Djarum brand and Bank BCA, possesses a fortune of US$17.4 billion, equivalent to Rp 238 trillion at an exchange rate of Rp 13,700 per US dollar. In second place is Michael Hartono with a net worth of US$16.7 billion or Rp 228.8 trillion. Together, the brothers have a combined wealth of US$34.1 billion or Rp 467 trillion.

Sri Prakash Lohia occupies third place with a net worth of US$7 billion. The polyester magnate ranks 228th on the world's richest list. Meanwhile, Tahir and Chairul Tanjung are in fourth and fifth place, respectively, with fortunes of US$3.5 billion each, placing them at 652nd on the global list of the wealthiest individuals.

The combined wealth of the top 10 richest Indonesians listed below totals US$59.6 billion, almost half of Indonesia's foreign exchange reserves, which reach US$128 billion. The world's richest person, Jeff Bezos, has a net worth of US$112 billion or Rp 1,534.4 trillion.
