Many People Rate Jokowi's Image Positively Near the End of His Term

Kompas Research and Development (Litbang Kompas) collected public perception data regarding the image of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) as his term nears its end.

The results show that the majority, or 89.4% of respondents, viewed Jokowi's image positively. This comprises 68.9% who rated it as good and 20.5% who rated it as very good.

Litbang Kompas assesses that one of the factors driving the positive image of Jokowi is the euphoria surrounding the 2024 General Election.

"Despite various shortcomings, this data indicates that the public appreciates how the election proceeded and concluded without significant conflict, especially at the grassroots level," wrote a Litbang Kompas researcher in their report on Thursday, June 20, 2024.

Furthermore, the 2024 election disputes were resolved without protracted delays. Therefore, the 2024 election is considered to have run smoothly, indirectly impacting public opinion on Jokowi's image.

Meanwhile, only a small percentage, or 7.6% of respondents, viewed Jokowi's image negatively. The breakdown is 6.9% who answered poorly and 0.7% who felt very poorly.

This Litbang Kompas survey involved 1,200 respondents randomly selected using a stratified systematic sampling method across 38 provinces in Indonesia.

Data collection was conducted from May 27 to June 2, 2024, through face-to-face interviews. The margin of error is approximately 2.83% with a 95% confidence level, under conditions of simple random sampling.
