Based on the forest and land fire monitoring system SiPongi from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), monitoring over the last 24 hours recorded 6,351 hotspots across Indonesia. This count increased by 2084 points compared to the previous period.

Hotspots are geographic coordinates with elevated surface temperature relative to surrounding areas, and do not directly equal the total number of fire incidents.
However, dense clustered hotspots in an area strongly indicate ongoing forest/land fires. Satellite-derived hotspot data remains the most effective method for large-scale wildfire monitoring.
