234 Hotspots Detected in Indonesia in the Last 24 Hours (Tuesday, September 9, 2025)

Based on the SiPongi forest and land fire monitoring system of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), monitoring in the last 24 hours shows that 234 hotspots were detected in Indonesia. This number of hotspots decreased by 278 points compared to the previous period.

This data is the result of Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA satellite imagery accessed on Tuesday (9/9/2025) at 11:35 AM WIB. Of the 234 detected hotspots, 1 point had a high hotspot confidence level, 225 points were moderate scale, and 8 points were low scale.

Hotspot confidence levels are divided into 3 scales. Low scale has a range of 0 - 29, moderate scale 30 - 79, and high scale 80 - 100. The higher the hotspot confidence level, the higher the likelihood of a forest and land fire occurring in a particular area.

The most detected hotspots were in East Kalimantan with 41 points. East Java ranked second with 29 points. North Sumatra was in third place with 19 hotspots.

A total of 17 hotspots were detected in Central Sulawesi, followed by South Sulawesi with 16 hotspots, and Lampung and Southeast Sulawesi each having 15 and 14 detected hotspots.

A hotspot is a coordinate point in an area that has a higher surface temperature than its surroundings, and not the number of forest and land fire incidents.

However, a large number of hotspots clustered in an area indicates the occurrence of forest and land fires. This means that hotspot data from remote sensing satellite detection is still the most effective for monitoring forest and land fires over a large area.
