Based on the forest and land fire monitoring system SiPongi from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), monitoring over the last 24 hours detected 4,921 hotspots across Indonesia. This figure shows a decrease of 875 hotspots compared to the previous period.

This data was obtained from Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA satellite imagery accessed on Thursday (13/8/2026) at 11.36 WIB. From the total detected hotspots: 243 have high confidence level, 4,528 medium confidence, and 150 low confidence level.

Hotspot confidence is divided into 3 tiers: low (0-29), medium (30-79), high (80-100). Higher hotspot confidence indicates greater likelihood of active forest and land fires in the area.

The highest number of hotspots was recorded in West Kalimantan (1,584), followed by Central Kalimantan (667) and South Kalimantan (393).

East Kalimantan detected 377 hotspots, South Sumatra 352, while South Papua and North Kalimantan recorded 149 and 142 hotspots respectively.

Hotspots are coordinate points with higher surface temperature than surrounding areas; they do not directly equal the count of fire incidents.

However, concentrated clusters of hotspots indicate active forest and land fire events. Satellite-detected hotspot data remains the most effective method for large-scale wildfire monitoring.
