South Korea: The Global Leader in Plastic Surgery Procedures in 2024

According to a report by *CEOWORLD* magazine, South Korea had the highest rate of plastic surgery in 2024. The country recorded 8.9 surgeries per 1,000 people.

“Cultural factors play a role; nearly 25% of women aged 19-29 undergo procedures such as double eyelid surgery and rhinoplasty,” *CEOWORLD* wrote in its report on Friday, May 2, 2024.

Furthermore, South Korea's cosmetic surgery industry significantly impacts its economy, contributing US$1.8 billion in 2023. Last year, 52,700 foreign patients visited the country for plastic surgery.

Indonesia, meanwhile, ranked 82nd globally with a per capita plastic surgery rate of 0.569 per 1,000 people.
