The number of places of worship in DKI Jakarta reached 7,732 units in 2020. Of that number, the most numerous type of place of worship in the capital was musallas, at 3,214 units.
Musallas were most numerous in East Jakarta last year, at 1,069 units. Musallas in North Jakarta and West Jakarta numbered 671 and 661 units respectively.
Besides musallas, Jakarta recorded a large number of mosques, namely 3,087 units. The capital's mosques were most numerous in East Jakarta, at 966 units.
There were also 1,094 Protestant churches in Jakarta. Furthermore, there were 263 viharas in the capital.
According to region, the most places of worship in 2020 were located in East Jakarta. Meanwhile, the Thousand Islands had the fewest places of worship, only 45 units.
