The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reports that the percentage of young people working in white-collar jobs has been increasing since 2016.

In 2016, this amounted to only 0.30% of the total youth population that year. The figure has generally increased, but experienced a decline during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020-2021.

BPS notes that approximately 0.44% of young people held white-collar jobs in 2020, decreasing to 0.41% in 2021.
