The 2025 Inter-Census Population Survey (SUPAS) from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) records international migration flows, both in and out of Indonesia. In the 2025 SUPAS, the survey period was conducted from 2022 to 2025.

BPS defines international migration as the movement of people between countries to live or settle in a destination country for at least one year, or less than one year with the intention of settling.

The results of the 2025 SUPAS show that the average number of international inbound migrants is 61 per 100,000 residents. This equates to 537 thousand international migrants entering Indonesia each year during that period.

At the same time, the number of international outbound migrants is 114 per 100,000 residents. In absolute terms, this equates to one million migrants leaving Indonesia.

"When compared with the results of the 2020 Long-Form Population Census (LF SP2020), both the number of international inbound and outbound migrants in the 2025 SUPAS have increased," BPS wrote.
