CSIS said that withstanding the Iranian counterattack requires a different system.

The cost of intercepting ballistic missiles is said to be relatively expensive. Only specialized defense systems, such as the US's Patriot and THAAD, and Israel's David's Sling and Arrow, can intercept them.

"Drones, like the Shahed-136, travel at 120 miles per hour and do not maneuver. Many systems can stop them," CSIS said.
