According to data collected by the Turkish news agency, Anadolu Agency, the United States (US) suffered losses worth nearly US$2 billion in the four days following its attack on Iran since Saturday (28/2/2026).

The main trigger of these losses was the US's AN/FPS-132 early warning radar system located at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

The radar, estimated to cost US$1.1 billion, was damaged after being hit by Iran's counter-attack on the first day of the war, an incident confirmed by Qatar.

Iran also claimed to have destroyed components of the AN/TPY-2 radar from the THAAD ballistic missile defense system located in Al-Ruwais Industrial City, United Arab Emirates.

According to Anadolu Agency, satellite images from open-source intelligence reports showed an attack on that location. The value of the destroyed radar was estimated at US$500 million.

Meanwhile, on the second day of the war (1/3/2026), three F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jets belonging to the United States were reportedly lost in a friendly fire incident involving Kuwait's air defense system.

"Although all six crew members survived, the aircraft were destroyed. The cost to replace them is estimated at US$282 million," wrote Efe Ozkan, a journalist for Anadolu Agency, on Wednesday (4/3/2026).

During the initial attack on Saturday, Iran also hit the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain, including destroying two satellite communication terminals (SATCOM)

Armed with open-source intelligence reports, Anadolu Agency said the targeted SATCOM terminals were AN/GSC-52B, which cost around US$20 million, including deployment and installation costs.

"Combining these costs, Iran has damaged US$1.902 billion worth of US military assets in the region," explained the author.
