There are various customs practiced by people worldwide every New Year, one of which is making "New Year's resolutions."
These resolutions typically take the form of a wish list or commitments to achieve specific goals in the coming year.
According to an Ipsos survey, the most popular resolution for welcoming 2026 is to spend more time with family and friends.
Out of tens of thousands of global respondents, 82% plan to do so next year.
Some also have resolutions to exercise more, improve their appearance, watch the World Cup, and reduce social media usage.
Below are the details of global New Year's resolutions for 2026 according to the Ipsos survey:
- Spend more time with family and friends: 82% of respondents
- Exercise more: 75%
- Improve appearance: 60%

- Reduce social media usage: 37%
Ipsos conducted this survey in October-November 2025, involving 23,642 adult respondents across 30 countries, including Indonesia.
