Number of Severely Damaged Houses due to Natural Disasters in Indonesia 2015-2024

According to data from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) compiled by Databoks, the number of severely damaged houses due to natural disasters in Indonesia fluctuated during the 2015-2024 period.

During that period, the highest increase occurred in 2018, which surged by more than 1,000% compared to 2017, reaching 117,310 units.

Meanwhile, a decrease in the number of severely damaged houses due to natural disasters occurred in 2019, when it dropped by 86.52% to 15,813 units.

As for 2024, BNPB data shows that severely damaged houses due to natural disasters surged by 169% compared to 2023, reaching 13,101 units.

In 2024, the highest number of severely damaged houses due to natural disasters was in West Java Province, followed by East Nusa Tenggara Province and West Sumatra.

1. West Java: 2,929 units
2. East Nusa Tenggara: 2,489 units
3. West Sumatra: 1,572 units
4. Highland Papua: 1.146 units
5. East Java: 1,095 units
