Majority of UN Member States Support Palestinian Independence

The United Nations (UN) held a vote on the New York Declaration on September 12, 2025.

This declaration contains commitments to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, including an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the release of all hostages, and the establishment of a viable and sovereign Palestinian state.

142 UN member states approved the declaration. However, 10 countries rejected it, and 12 abstained.
