The list of the richest people in the United States (US) is still dominated by men. Only 62 women, or 15.5%, made it onto Forbes' 2025 list of the 400 richest Americans.
Collectively, the total wealth of these US women reached US$872 billion, or approximately Rp14,355.7 trillion (assuming Rp16,463 per US$). This is up from US$839 billion the previous year.
This year, Alice Walton once again became the richest woman in the US, with an estimated net worth of US$106 billion, or Rp1,745 trillion. She has achieved this for nine consecutive years.
"This makes her the 15th richest person in the US and the first woman to join the ranks of centibillionaires (those with 12-digit fortunes) in the country," wrote Forbes in its report, Forbes 400: The Richest Women In America 2025.
The primary source of wealth for the Walmart retail heiress comes from the company's stock value, which increased by more than 26% in the past year.
Julia Koch holds the second position, with an estimated wealth of US$81.2 billion. She inherited a 42.5% stake in the Koch Industries conglomerate from her late husband, David Koch, who passed away in 2019.
Forbes mentioned that last September, Julia Koch and her children agreed to purchase a small stake in the NFL's New York Giants.
Jacqueline Mars completes the top three with a net worth of US$42.4 billion. She is the granddaughter of the founder of Mars, the confectionery and pet food company behind M&M's, Snickers, Royal Canin, and others.
