Distribution of Indonesian Households with Certified Housing in 2024

According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), only 59.94% of Indonesian households owned their own homes with supporting certificate evidence in 2024.

The certificates referred to by BPS in this data are the Certificate of Ownership (SHM), the Building Use Right Certificate (SHGB), and the Apartment Unit Ownership Certificate (SHSRS).

By province, the highest percentage of households owning their own homes with certificate evidence was in Southeast Sulawesi. This was followed by North Maluku, Bengkulu, Lampung, and Central Java.

The following is a list of the 10 provinces with the highest percentage of households owning their own homes with supporting certificate evidence in 2024:

1. Southeast Sulawesi: 79.86% of households
2. North Maluku: 78.10% of households
3. Bengkulu: 77.26% of households
4. Lampung: 76.22% of households
5. Central Java: 74.07% of households
6. Yogyakarta Special Region: 73.99% of households
7. Bali: 71.51% of households
8. Gorontalo: 70.17% of households
9. Jambi: 67.76% of households
10. Central Sulawesi: 65.98% of households.

Meanwhile, there are 9 provinces where the percentage of households owning their own homes with certificate evidence is below 50%. These provinces include:

1. Papua: 48.33% of households
2. West Papua: 47.26% of households
3. Southwest Papua: 46.78% of households
4. Jakarta: 43.68% of households
5. North Sumatra: 36.77% of households
6. South Papua: 35.95% of households
7. West Sumatra: 30.99% of households
8. Central Papua: 22.10% of households
9. Highland Papua: 2.54% of households.
