Many Indonesian Citizens Oppose Diplomatic Relations with Israel

According to a Median survey, 74.9% of Indonesian citizens disagree with Indonesia establishing diplomatic relations with Israel.

On the other hand, 20.7% stated that Indonesia could open diplomatic relations with Israel under certain conditions.

Furthermore, 0.9% stated that Indonesia should open official relations with Israel unconditionally, while 3.5% did not know or did not answer.

If Indonesia were to establish relations with Israel with conditions, the conditions that Israel must meet according to Indonesian citizens are as follows:

• Recognizing Palestinian independence: 13%
• Stopping the war with Palestine: 7.8%
• Cease attacks on Iran: 5%
• Cease attacks on neighboring countries: 3.3%
• Economic cooperation: 2.4%
• Compliance with international law: 0.8%
• Withdrawal of armed forces: 0.7%
• Liberation of Gaza: 0.3%
• Non-diplomatic relations: 0.2%
• Deployment of peacekeeping forces: 0.1%
• Human rights protection: 0.1%
• An agreement regarding current issues: 0.1%

Median conducted this survey from June 12-18, 2025, using non-probability sampling, involving 907 respondents over 17 years old, by distributing questionnaires through social media accounts in 38 Indonesian provinces.
