This number is an increase of approximately 274,000 people, or a growth of 0.7%, compared to 2024.
In 2025, the projected population of East Java is 20.98 million males (49.8%) and approximately 21.11 million females (50.2%).
When broken down by region, the largest population in East Java is in Surabaya City, while the smallest is in Mojokerto City.
