Population Projection of East Java in 2025

According to projections by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), East Java's population in 2025 will reach 42.09 million people.

This number is an increase of approximately 274,000 people, or a growth of 0.7%, compared to 2024.

In 2025, the projected population of East Java is 20.98 million males (49.8%) and approximately 21.11 million females (50.2%).

When broken down by region, the largest population in East Java is in Surabaya City, while the smallest is in Mojokerto City.
