BNN Destroys 13.5 Hectares of Marijuana Plantation in 2024: Here's the Area

Throughout 2024, the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) eradicated 135,000 square meters, or 13.5 hectares, of marijuana fields.

These fields contained 99,864 marijuana plants. The weight of the wet marijuana seized from these fields reached 35.5 tons.

The largest marijuana field eradicated by the BNN was located in Aceh Besar Regency, totaling 95,000 square meters. This figure is an accumulation of seven eradication operations conducted in the regency.

Last year, the BNN also eradicated 20,000 square meters of marijuana fields in Aceh Utara Regency, in three separate operations.

In a single operation, the BNN eradicated 20,000 square meters of marijuana fields in Mandailing Natal Regency.

In addition to eradicating marijuana fields, the BNN uncovered 618 narcotics cases and two clandestine laboratory cases in 2024. A total of 974 individuals were named suspects in narcotics cases and 11 in clandestine laboratory cases.

From all cases uncovered, the BNN seized several pieces of evidence, including:

* 710,980.59 grams of methamphetamine
* 2,178,034.61 grams of marijuana
* 1,077.69 grams of synthetic marijuana
* 290,737.23 pills and 138,404.29 grams of ecstasy
* 2,760 grams of heroin
* 4,335.34 grams of cocaine
* 971,000 pills and 2,800 grams of paracetamol, caffeine, carisoprodol (PCC)
* 1,300 ml of narcotic precursor liquid.
