Indonesia's Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) reported that the National Digital Transformation Index (TDN) reached 49.2 points in 2022.

By province, DKI Jakarta achieved the highest score with 66.18 points in 2022, up from 65.58 in 2021.

West Java is second with 60.26 points, followed by Yogyakarta Special Region with 59.17 points.

East Java is fourth with 56.38 points, and Bali is fifth with 56.11 points.

Provinces with the lowest TDN scores are Gorontalo (41.23), Papua Pegunungan (41.28), and Central Papua (41.34).

The TDN index aims to capture the disparities in digital development in Indonesia by observing the progress of digital transformation in three stages: foundation, adoption, and acceleration. It also encompasses four digital pillars: digital infrastructure, digital government, digital economy, and digital society. A total of 104 indicators are used for the assessment.

Data collection spanned 38 Indonesian provinces and involved 25 ministries/agencies and private sector entities at the central level, 486 regional government agencies (OPD) at the provincial level, 3,800 households, and 1,520 industry players.
