Selena Gomez Becomes Youngest Billionaire in the US: Here's the Source of Her Wealth

Singer, actress, and renowned cosmetics entrepreneur Selena Gomez is listed as one of the youngest billionaires in the United States.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Selena Gomez's net worth reached US$1.3 billion, or approximately Rp19.98 trillion (assuming Rp15,370 per USD) on September 6, 2024.

Although better known as a singer, Bloomberg estimates that the majority, or about US$1.1 billion, of Selena Gomez's wealth comes from her cosmetics business, Rare Beauty. This accounts for 81.4% of Gomez's total net worth.

“Rare's annual revenue reached US$350 million last year, according to Pitchbook, surpassing other brands founded by celebrities such as Jessica Alba's Honest Co. and Lady Gaga's Haus Labs,” wrote Bloomberg in its report on Friday, September 6, 2024.

The next source of wealth comes from endorsements, with a 6.9% share. Gomez has reportedly earned tens of millions of US dollars from collaborations with renowned fashion companies such as Louis Vuitton, Coach, and Puma.

Meanwhile, wealth from concert tours only contributes 4.8%, and Selena Gomez has not been on tour since 2016.

In addition, the singer of "Lose You to Love Me" also owns a mental health platform called Wondermind, which contributes 2.6% of her total net worth.

Meanwhile, income from album sales, acting, streaming, and real estate contributes less than 2% of Selena Gomez's total net worth.

Most recently, Gomez starred in the series *Only Murders in the Building Season 4*. Bloomberg mentions that the artist could take home at least US$6 million per season for her role in the popular series.
