Luhut's Wealth Increased by Rp220 Billion in Three Years Amidst Holding Multiple Positions

President Joko Widodo appointed Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan as the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment in July 2016.

In addition to his role as Coordinating Minister, Luhut also held several other positions in the Jokowi administration, including:

* Head of the National Team for Increasing the Use of Domestic Products
* Deputy Chairperson of the Committee for Handling COVID-19 and National Economic Recovery
* Head of the Steering Committee for the Rescue of 15 National Priority Lakes
* Head of the National Movement Team Proud of Indonesian-Made Products
* Head of the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Rail Committee
* Head of the National Water Resources Council
* Coordinator for the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in the Java-Bali Region

Along with the numerous positions he held, Luhut's wealth has increased significantly in recent years.

Based on the State Officials' Wealth Report (LHKPN), at the end of 2019, Luhut had total assets of approximately Rp677 billion.

Then in 2020, his wealth increased to Rp745 billion, briefly decreased to Rp716 billion in 2021, and finally rose again to Rp897 billion in 2022.

In total, over three years, Luhut's wealth has increased by approximately Rp220 billion.

In the last three years, Luhut's greatest increase in wealth was in securities, rising from Rp70.6 billion at the end of 2019 to Rp340.9 billion at the end of 2022.

The value of his land and buildings also increased significantly, from Rp176.9 billion at the end of 2019 to Rp251.6 billion at the end of 2022.

Currently, Luhut has expressed his desire to become the General Chairperson of the Golkar Party.

"If (many cadres) support it, I'm willing (to be a candidate for General Chairperson of the Golkar Party)," said Luhut, as reported by *Detik.com*, Tuesday (25/7/2023).
