The number of people of working age in NTT reached 68.8% in June 2021.

East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) had a population of 5.48 million in June 2021. Data from the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) of the Ministry of Home Affairs shows that 3.77 million people (68.81%) of the total population are in the productive age group (15-64 years).

Meanwhile, the non-productive age group population reached 1.71 million (31.19%). Specifically, 1.4 million (25.44%) of the population in this province bordering Timor Leste are in the non-productive age group (0-15 years). There are also 315,570 people (5.75%) in the unproductive age group (65 years and older).

Based on gender, there are 2.75 million (50.09%) male residents and 2.74 million (49.91%) female residents in NTT.

Based on marital status, 3.25 million (59.31%) of NTT's population are unmarried, and 2.06 million (37.54%) are married. Furthermore, 13,830 (0.25%) are divorced and 158,890 (2.9%) are widowed.

According to Dukcapil data, there are 1.45 million households (KK) in NTT. This province, with an area of 48,720 square kilometers (km), is administratively divided into 21 regencies and 1 city.
