It's not Jakarta; the highest cost of living is actually in the Bangka Belitung Islands.

The cost of living in Bangka Belitung Islands (Babel) is the highest compared to other provinces such as DKI Jakarta, North Kalimantan, and Papua. Data from the Central Statistics Agency shows that the poverty line in the Babel Islands reaches Rp 564,391 per capita per month. This means that the minimum amount of rupiah needed to meet the basic needs of food and beverages equivalent to 2,100 kilocalories per capita per day and non-food basic needs is the highest compared to other regions.

North Kalimantan and East Kalimantan are ranked third and fourth nationally for the highest cost of living, at Rp 530,566 and Rp 526,686 per capita per month, respectively. This is significantly higher than the national poverty line of Rp 361,990 per capita per month.

Measuring the poverty line consists of two components: the food poverty line, comprising 52 commodities, and the non-food poverty line, comprising 51 types of commodities for urban populations and 47 commodities for rural populations.
