15% of Central Kalimantan's population will be in East Kotawaringin Regency by mid-2024.

According to population data from the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the population of Central Kalimantan Province was 2.75 million in mid-2024.

East Kota Waringin Regency has the largest population in Central Kalimantan Province, namely 437,070 (15.88%) of the total population.

Next is Kapuas Regency with a population of 415,210 (15.08%), Palangkaraya City with 306,100 (11.12%), and West Kota Waringin Regency with 285,580 (10.37%).

Meanwhile, Sukamara Regency has the smallest population, only 64,430 (2.34%).

Administratively, Central Kalimantan Province is divided into 1 city and 13 regencies, with 17 districts comprising 17 urban villages and 168 villages.

Based on marital status, 48.55% of the population of Central Kalimantan Province is married, while 46.44% are unmarried. The population with divorced and widowed statuses reached 1.55% and 3.46%, respectively.
