The 2022 Qatar World Cup tournament has reached the quarter-finals. Eight teams have secured their place in this stage after fiercely contested matches against their rivals. Almost all teams received yellow cards for fouls committed in previous rounds.
Portugal received the most yellow cards, totaling five. Previously, Portugal advanced to the quarter-finals after defeating Switzerland with a score of 6-1. Goncalo Ramos contributed three goals in the 17th, 51st, and 67th minutes.
Three other goals were scored by Pepe's header in the 33rd minute, Raphael Guerreiro in the 55th minute, and Rafael Leao's curving shot in the 90+2nd minute. Cristiano Ronaldo, who entered the game in the 74th minute, failed to score. With this result, Portugal will play against Morocco on Saturday (December 10th) at Al Thumama Stadium.
Croatia, Netherlands, Brazil, and Morocco also received a significant number of yellow cards. England, however, has yet to receive any yellow cards.
Morocco created history at the 2022 Qatar World Cup. They qualified for the quarter-finals for the first time after eliminating Spain in the round of 16 at the Education City Stadium on Tuesday (December 6th).
Morocco advanced after defeating Spain in a penalty shootout that ended 3-0. Previously, both teams failed to score during regulation time.
