These 5 Circuits Are the Deadliest in MotoGP History

Numerous crashes resulting in rider injuries have occurred in MotoGP. Besides minor or serious injuries, a number of MotoGP riders have even lost their lives on the racetrack.

According to sportskeeda.com, here is a list of the 5 circuits with the highest recorded number of MotoGP rider fatalities up to 2021:

1. Snaefell Mountain Course (Isle of Man) – 36 deaths
2. Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium) – 10 deaths
3. TT Circuit Assen (Netherlands) – 7 deaths
4. Autodromo Nazionale Monza (Italy) – 4 deaths
5. Silverstone Circuit (United Kingdom) – 4 deaths

The Snaefell Mountain Course on the Isle of Man is recorded as the deadliest circuit in MotoGP history. A total of 36 riders died as a result of accidents on this circuit.

Tom Phillips and Leslie Graham are two MotoGP world champions who lost their lives in accidents at the Snaefell Mountain Course.

As a result, the Isle of Man TT series only ran from 1949-1976 in the history of the MotoGP World Championship. Protests from several riders, including Giacomo Agostini, the most influential champion rider at the time, led to the circuit's removal from the MotoGP calendar.
