Many companies are directly involved in or assisting the Israeli occupation of Palestine.
This is documented in a report by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).
According to the UN Human Rights Council, the "Israeli occupation" or "Israeli settlements" encompasses all efforts to establish, expand, and maintain Israeli settlements in the Palestinian territories occupied based on the 1949 Green Line.
The 1949 Green Line is the boundary line between Israel and Palestine, drawn on a map in green ink in 1949.
Initially, this territorial line was established as a ceasefire agreement to end the war between Israel and Arab countries (Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, and Jordan) in 1948.
However, Israel subsequently violated this agreement.
"The Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem, is contrary to and illegal under international law," wrote the UN Human Rights Council in UN general Assembly A/HRC/22/63 (February 2013).
"Citing Article 8 (2)(b)(viii) of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, it stated that 'Israeli occupation activities' constitute war crimes, and Israel must be held accountable for such actions," it continued.
According to OHCHR findings, this illegal Israeli occupation of Palestine is not only supported by state and military institutions but also assisted by numerous business entities.
The forms of assistance vary; some companies supply equipment and construction materials, build infrastructure, finance the expansion of Israeli settlements, and provide maintenance, communication, and transportation services.
Other companies assist in the exploitation of Palestinian natural resources for Israeli businesses, dispose of waste from Israeli settlements in Palestinian territories, and provide heavy equipment for demolishing the homes, farms, and agricultural land of Palestinian citizens.
