Two Indonesian Men's Badminton Players Enter World's Top 10

This year's Thomas Cup, an international men's badminton tournament, was held in Bangkok, Thailand, from May 8-15, 2022.

Indonesia participated in the tournament with a 12-player men's badminton team. Two of these players were ranked in the world's top 10 by the Badminton World Federation (BWF).

The following are the top 10 ranked men's singles badminton players as of May 10, 2022:

1. Viktor Axelsen (Denmark): 118,579 points
2. Kento Momota (Japan): 112,210 points
3. Anders Antonsen (Denmark): 98,300 points
4. Chou Tien Chen (Taiwan): 93,282 points
5. Anthony S. Ginting (Indonesia): 87,567 points
6. Lee Zi Jia (Malaysia): 86,564 points
7. Chen Long (China): 84,400 points
8. Jonatan Christie (Indonesia): 82,447 points
9. Lakshya Sen (India): 74,786 points
10. Loh Kean Yew (Singapore): 72,786 points

Viktor Axelsen of Denmark ranked number 1 in the world for men's singles with 118,579 points as of May 10, 2022. He is also the 2017 World Champion and a gold medalist at the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Meanwhile, Indonesian players Anthony S. Ginting and Jonatan Christie ranked 5th and 8th in the world, respectively.

Anthony S. Ginting won two medals at the 2018 Asian Games. Jonatan Christie won a gold medal in men's singles at the 2017 SEA Games.
