MoEF: Number of Hotspots in Indonesia Reaches 224 in the Last 24 Hours (Sunday, November 30, 2025)

Based on the SiPongi forest and land fire monitoring system of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), monitoring in the last 24 hours showed 224 hotspots detected in Indonesia. This number of hotspots decreased by 34 points compared to the previous period.

The data is the result of Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA satellite imagery accessed on Sunday (30/11/2025) at 11.12 AM WIB. Of the 224 detected hotspots, 3 points have a high confidence level, 218 points are at a medium scale, and 3 points are at a low scale.

Hotspot confidence levels are divided into 3 scales. A low scale has a range of 0 - 29, a medium scale 30 - 79, and a high scale 80 - 100. The higher the hotspot confidence level, the higher the likelihood of forest and land fires occurring in a particular area.

The highest number of detected hotspots are in North Maluku with 49 points. Southeast Sulawesi ranks second with the most hotspots, with 45 points. Central Sulawesi is in third position with 39 hotspots.

As many as 16 hotspots were detected in South Sulawesi, followed by South Sumatra with 13 hotspots, and East Java and Jambi each having 11 and 8 detected hotspots.

A hotspot is a coordinate point of an area that has a higher surface temperature than its surroundings, and not the number of forest and land fire incidents.

However, a large number of clustered hotspots in an area indicates the occurrence of forest and land fires. This means that hotspot data from remote sensing satellite detection is still the most effective in monitoring forest and land fires for large areas.
