The Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) will open 110,553 positions for prospective civil servants (CASN) in 2024.

Of this number, 20,772 positions are allocated for prospective civil servants (CPNS) and 89,781 for government employees with work contracts (PPPK).

"We have just received the largest number of positions in the history of Kemenag, almost 111,000 ASN positions," said Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas in a press release on Monday (1/4/2024).

This year's Kemenag recruitment will be open for positions as madrasah teachers, Christian theological high school teachers, Catholic high school teachers, lecturers at state religious universities, religious counselors, marriage registrars, digital talent, and placements in the IKN (new capital city).

Yaqut explained that this large need is influenced by the large number of Kemenag ASN reaching retirement age.

"Our employees who will reach retirement age from 2024 to 2028 number 48,991 ASN. This is certainly a concern for us regarding retirement age in the next four years," he said.

In addition, Kemenag also considers the expansion of regions from the provincial to district/city levels and the program to change the status of schools under the auspices of Kemenag.
