This figure is up from 98.75% the previous year. Over the past five years, the highest growth rate in Riau was recorded in 2015 at 10.98%, while the average growth over the past six years was 1.99%.

The current average use of mobile devices for internet access among the rural and urban population in Indonesia is 99.03% (2024 data). In most provinces, this figure is lower than the same period the previous year.
Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), West Nusa Tenggara recorded the highest percentage of rural and urban residents using mobile devices to access the internet, at 99.45%. This represents 2.64% of the total across all provinces.
Next is Central Kalimantan. In the same period the previous year, the percentage of rural and urban residents using mobile devices to access the internet in this province was 99.26%.
Furthermore, the percentage of rural and urban residents using mobile devices to access the internet increased by 0.53% in North Maluku to 99.38% compared to the same period the previous year; in West Kalimantan, it increased by 0.04% to 99.38% compared to the same period the previous year; and in Lampung, it increased by 0.03% to 99.36% compared to the same period the previous year.
