The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 139 districts/cities with a weekly number of confirmed positive Covid-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 2.13 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Wednesday, October 5, 2022).
The top five districts/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 25.67 per 100,000 population/week are Central Jakarta, South Tangerang, Kupang City, South Jakarta, and North Jakarta, with values of 32.83, 27.86, 27.68, 26.72, and 25.67 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
A recapitulation of national Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java. 80 districts/cities recorded higher daily confirmed positive cases than before, while 81 districts/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case rates include Kupang City, Soppeng, and Singkawang City, with confirmed positive cases of 27.68, 13.05, and 12.03 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
