The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 101 regencies/cities with an agglomeration death rate due to COVID-19 exceeding the national average, currently recorded at 0.06 deaths per 100,000 population per week, data as of Friday, December 16, 2022.
The five regencies/cities with the highest agglomeration death rates due to COVID-19, exceeding 0.74 deaths per 100,000 population per week, are Belitung (1.56 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Kutai Barat (1.33 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Muna Barat (1.2 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Probolinggo City (0.82 deaths per 100,000 population per week), and Sumba Barat (0.74 deaths per 100,000 population per week).
The national COVID-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in the agglomeration death rate due to COVID-19 in most regencies/cities outside Java. Eight regencies/cities recorded a higher daily agglomeration death rate due to COVID-19 than previously, while four regencies/cities recorded a lower rate.
Areas outside Java with the highest agglomeration death rates due to COVID-19 include Belitung (1.56 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Kutai Barat (1.33 deaths per 100,000 population per week), and Muna Barat (1.2 deaths per 100,000 population per week).
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
